SWAN UK families meet for coffee in Brighton

The south coast hasn’t traditionally been one of our most active regions so our resolution for 2018 was to change this and we kicked things off with a New Year coffee and catch up.

With people attending from as far flung as Croydon, Surrey and Hastings as well as a few local residents, we had brilliant morning at Café Domenica. Staffed by adults with learning disabilities, the café provided a perfect meeting place for us – large enough to be relaxed, but small enough to feel cosy! Although the catch up was only planned to last from 11am to 1pm the combination of the relaxed atmosphere and great conversation meant most of us didn’t end up leaving until almost 3pm!

In between some general chatting we brainstormed various ideas for events over the coming months including a visit to Tilgate Park in the summer holidays and a local soft play centre we can hire out. We decided we will definitely be hosting a coffee meet in Brighton again and are also going to try having one a bit further up along the coast in Hastings – watch this space for more details.
