Teaming up with Thomas Cook Children’s Charity

We are delighted to announce that Thomas Cook Children’s Charity is now helping to support SWAN UK’s family events!

SWAN UK events bring families together and provide opportunities to make precious memories. They also give siblings the opportunity to make new friends who understand how difficult having an undiagnosed brother or sister can be.

In the lead up to Undiagnosed Children’s Day, the events kicked off with Colchester Zoo.

SWAN UK member Donna Barrett said: ‘We had a fantastic day at the zoo. It was a great opportunity to meet other SWAN UK families and Katie made friends with a swan sibling and really interacted with her. She also helped Katie feed the elephants, which was really appreciated.’

Chair of the Thomas Cook Children’s Charity Lee Bradley said: ‘We are delighted that our contribution to SWAN’s programme of family events throughout 2016 will provide support to children affected by a syndrome without a name and their families when they need it most. Our support to SWAN UK is a great example of the work Thomas Cook Children’s Charity undertakes in the UK to improve children’s lives.’

SWAN UK National Coordinator, Lauren Roberts, added: ‘Thomas Cook Children’s Charity’s support means so much. Many undiagnosed children have complex medical needs and having a child without a diagnosis can be extremely isolating as families don’t know what the future holds for their child. As a result, fun family days out are often extremely rare and difficult to plan. Thomas Cook Children’s Charity’s help is essential in us being able to reach out to more families across the UK. Families will be able to spend time together as well as meeting ing other families who share an understanding of what it means to be undiagnosed.’
