Running the Cardiff half marathon for Tilly and SWAN UK

I’m running the Cardiff half marathon (my first) in honour of a pretty amazing little person called Tilly! Tilly is three years old and as well as being the daughter of two of my favourite people, she is an incredibly resilient and inspiring little girl.
Tilly suffers from an unspecified multi-system inflammatory disease that affects her skin, brain, liver and muscle development.
In layman’s terms, that means while it affects Tilly’s whole body the doctors don’t know what’s causing it. Not only does this make it hard to treat, it also leaves Tilly and her parents in the dark, never knowing when or in what form the next flare up will appear.
This is where SWAN UK provides such valuable support. They bring together families like Tilly’s, enabling them to share their experiences, ask questions and generally find a sympathetic, supportive community to help them meet the challenges posed by an undiagnosed genetic condition. Put simply SWAN UK offers fantastic support to families going through an unimaginably challenging time and any donation you can offer will make a huge difference. It will also help me through those last few miles.
