Tell us a bit about yourself:

I (James) am a Teaching Fellow at Imperial College London and Shanta is a physiotherapist working at King’s College Hospital. We met when were 18 years old (a long, long time ago) and are getting married in February.

What activity did you do to raise money for SWAN UK?

Get married!

What inspired you to take on this activity?

I was inspired by Shanta’s beautiful eyes and I would imagine Shanta was inspired by my dazzling sense of humour

Had you done anything like this before in terms of taking part or organising?

This will be our first (and hopefully our last) wedding!

Why did you choose to raise money for SWAN UK?

SWAN UK have been a great support for my sister and my nephew.

How much did you raise?

Only £50 pounds so far, but we haven’t actually got married yet.

Was there any training involved? How did you manage it?

12 and a half years of being in a relationship. It’s been hard graft, but we’ve made it through with only a few bumps and bruises.

Would you do something like this again?

Nope! Once is enough, but I encourage more people to use their wedding gifts to give to charity, especially SWAN UK!

Would you recommend it to others?

Getting married to Shanta? yeah sure. she’s great
