There are so many ways for you to get involved with helping SWAN UK. This year our Big Ambition is even more challenging for us as both of our main grants from The Big Lottery end this year, your fundraising will make a direct impact on how much support we are able to continue providing to families after they finish.
Our Big Ambition is to ensure that every family has the support they need, when they need it.
Work
Who said working a 9 to 5 had to be boring? There are so many different ways you can get the whole office involved. Below are a few examples to get you started:
Dress down Friday
Get everyone to dress down and donate some money, most donate £1 but the amount is up to you.
Get a team together and take part in a challenge event
They make great team building exercises too. This can be anything from tough mudder to taking part in a fun run or cycle challenge. Take a look at our event challenges page for more ideas.
Calling all coffee addicts
Ditch the coffee and donate the money you save to SWAN UK. Alternatively get colleagues to sponsor you going without your coffee.
Loose coin jar
Simply have an empty jar where everyone puts in loose change, the amount can range from 1p-20p or more if they’re feeling generous.
Auction/ Skill share
Get people in the office to donate items or their skills and get everyone bidding.
How about holding a bake sale in the office
Get everyone to bake a cake or buy one and sell it on. And if this doesn’t entice you to hold one I don’t know what will. Krispy Kreme offers fundraisers the chance to purchase a box of Original Glazed doughnuts at a special fundraising price of £5.50. Hold a P2B Party
What is a P2B Party I hear you ask – it is a party where you wear our swan colours, pink, purple and blue.
The day can consist of a variety of different activities for all ages whether it’s a kids only party or an party just for adults, the choice is completely up to you.
For the kids
Why not have a range of different mini activities:
Arts and crafts area
Make swan bunting, card making station or even hand printing, be as creative as you want.
Decorate a cake
Get baking! Bake some cupcakes and get the kids to decorate them with more tasty treats.
Kids Quiz
For adults and families
Adults can have fun too right? Check out our ideas to get you going:
Hold a mum or dads night
Grab a babysitter and unwind – for the mums give each other facials and manicures or hire someone for a few hours. For the dads- have drinking competition, whoever can drink a pint of milk the fastest wins.
Hold a coffee morning
Sunday Brunch
Get friends, family, neighbours round and have a friendly brunch.
Have a friendly quiz night
Have a BBQ and charge your guests to attend
Have a Karaoke night
What can you go a month without?
Think of something you do everyday, get everyone to sponsor you and give it up for example giving up coffee for a month.
For schools
Schools are always a fun way to get the kids involved in something special, we’ve got a few of our favourites below:
Non uniform day
Wear an item of clothing that is one of the SWAN UK colours.
Bake sale
Take part in a play
Choose from one of Roald Dhals Marvellous Books, check out their website for ideas on a play to recreate roalddahl.com/create-and-learn/teach/teach-the-stories
Sports Day
Hold a school fashion show
School Fete
Why not go that extra mile with a mini school fete? Read our recipe for a good school fete here.
If you have any other ideas, I’d love to hear them.
