I am Owen O’Neill and I am nine years old and I have special needs and have a brother called Alex who fifteen and is a swan like me.

We live with our mum and dad. Both of us have cerebral palsy, global developmental delay, physical and learning problems, rare genetic conditions and a whole lot more. My brother Alex is generally happy, calm and protective about me when we go out anywhere. Alex enjoys Formula One, drawing with chalk outside, iPad and likes spinning anything that can make a noise. Alex has to have 24/7 care as he has no sense of danger and I look out for him as Alex can't talk. I feel sad as I can't walk yet and walk with my brother. We go to the hospital at least once a year to see the geneticist.

My parents feel sad because they don't know how long they have left with us. Also they are happy with us being in their lives.

I enjoy tidying up in my way and being Alex’s voice when I have to. I shout if Alex gets into danger as I want him safe.
