I’m Jacob, I’m from Stockport and I am five. My sister is called Iona, she has a button through her belly and she is one. We like playing with her Twirlywoo Boat and I like making her laugh but sometimes she bites my toes.

We test her blood sugars and then she has to go to hospital. The main thing I worry about is you (mummy) and Iona in hospital when I’m at school or out and about or when she goes out and doesn’t feel well.

She goes to hospital quite a lot and I have to stay with Daddy or Mummy – once it was Mummy but always it’s Daddy and I miss Mummy. Once Nanny came and then Grandma and Granddad. We were going to go to Legoland but then Iona was poorly and she had a big needle in her arm. Then we came to visit and we did painting on the hospital roof garden and that was good.

Sometimes I go to Rainbows with Mummy when she’s in hospital and that’s fun. We went to Flamingoland and I liked seeing flamingos because they’re just so pink and they prance around.
