Default Grandchildren??

Is there anyone else out there thinking about grandchildren? My son is 21 but isn't in a relationship at the moment. He loves the idea of having children oneday. Because he has different dad to his sibbling but they both have a condition, it seems likely that I passed something down to them. What are the chances of them passing it onto their children? Have advised son that this is a possibility & if he was to have children, he may need to have counselling first.
It isn't my biggest concern, that would be my childrens health & future, however, this is part of their future & their happiness. I feel guilty for passing this on to them & depriving them of so much. I am aware that I didn't know but that doesn't help.
It is unlikely that grandchildren will be in my future despite 5 children. My stepsons life styles don't make it likely, 1 child didn't survive & my other 2, well their futures hold too many questions!
Does anyone else have these issues in their life?
